Bars, smoothie chains, central kitchens and small beverage producers share a common problem: processing fresh oranges every day costs time, space and waste. Frozen orange quarters solve most of it: clean, portioned fruit, ready to extract, blend or squeeze when needed.
Why use frozen oranges for juice
- Year-round availability: fruit is frozen at its best and stays available out of season.
- Less kitchen work: no daily washing, cutting and waste disposal.
- Consistent dosing: regular pieces, easier to weigh and standardise.
- Less waste: thaw only what you need.
Quarters, segments or pulp?
It depends on equipment and finished product. Quarters suit professional extractors and blenders and keep a full texture; for smoother drinks, orange pulp may be better — see also our article on frozen orange pulp for industry. Format (with or without peel) and piece size are agreed in the data sheet according to use.

A note on variety
Navel oranges are sweet and seedless, perfect for fresh juices and extracts consumed immediately. Their juice, however, when stored for long or pasteurised, tends to develop delayed bitterness caused by limonin. For long-life beverages, discuss the most suitable variety and process with us.
Handling
- Store at −18 °C without breaking the cold chain.
- Thaw in the fridge, or use straight from frozen in blenders for cold drinks without added ice.
- Do not refreeze thawed product.
